PSP_web_header2

Paramount Social Presents is the next wave of programming to target the next generation of arts patrons and supporters. We focus on connectivity and social experiences around the performing arts. We’ll announce more events throughout the year, but to kick us off, we have the Litchfield Pen Happy Hour prior to the Laverne Cox show, Harry Houdini’s Birthday Bash, a Lip Sync Battle and a #ThrowbackThursday Happy Hour with historically low prices.

Paramount Social Events

Litchfield Pen Happy Hour  January 22
The Litchfield Penitentiary is coming to Austin! Be sure to swing by the Iron Bear prior to the Laverne Cox show at the Paramount Theatre for a pre-show happy hour and Orange is the New Black trivia. The first 50 ticket holders to arrive will receive a free drink on the Paramount Social tab, but even those without a ticket are welcome to join us for trivia and drink specials. Ticket holders can draw for raffle prizes, including a chance to Meet Laverne Cox after the show!

Houdini’s Birthday Bash  March 31
The Master of Escape, Harry Houdini, made his mark on the Paramount Theatre (literally) in the 1900s, and now it’s your turn to try as the Austin Panic Room comes to the Paramount to help us celebrate Houdini’s birthday! Enjoy a drink and birthday cake with friends while working together to help Houdini break out of the Paramount.

Lip Sync Battle  April 14
Can’t get enough of the lip sync battles on Jimmy Fallon or Spike TV? Neither can we! Come watch your friends, coworkers and brave souls of Austin battle it out for last-minute Moontower badges on the Stateside stage. Hosted by Matt Sadler and judged by a panel of some of Austin’s favorite comics, this will be one show you won’t want to miss!

#ThrowbackThursday Happy Hour  June 2
We’re throwing it back to a time when living was easy and getting a drink downtown was cheap. Get a headstart on your weekend at the Paramount with #ThrowbackThursday drink prices and a whiskey tasting led by Billy Benedict from J&J Spirits. Stick around afterward to catch a free film from our Summer Classic Film Series.

Trump vs. Bernie – Clash of the Titans  February 29
It’s Democratic Socialist versus Republican Billionaire, fighting over the issues a week before the 2016 Texas Primary! Bernie Sanders (James Adomian) and Donald Trump (Anthony Atamanuik) will hold a live, unsanctioned bipartisan exhibition debate at Stateside at the Paramount. The gloves are off in this Queens vs. Brooklyn showdown, and you won’t want to miss it.

PSP Music Series: Dana Falconberry CD Release  April 2
KUTX Live and PSP are thrilled to host Dana Falconberry & Medicine Bow’s CD Release show for her newest album From The Forest Came The Fire.

PSP Music Series: Mike and the Moonpies  May 6
Welcoming the modern face of the outlaw country music movement: From their home in Austin, The Moonpies carry the torch of their predecessors, while maintaining the originality and independence that the genre is infamous for. While steeped in tradition, the Moonpies rejuvenate honky tonk and traditional country music and appeal to a wildly eclectic audience.
